Services and Responsibilities
- Collects all property taxes for Shawnee County.
- Distributes property tax monies to state and other tax districts.
- Serves as bank for the county government
- Operates the County's motor Vehicle department for the State of Kansas.
- Allows for accountable flow of tax funds to departments providing public services.
- The treasurer's office mails approximately 73,000 property tax statements annually and completes more than 200,000 motor vehicle transactions annually.

Walk in titles will not be processed on the last business day of the month. Title work by appointment only, reserve your date now.
Appointments are available and encouraged.

The Shawnee County Treasurer's Tax Division may limit walk-in taxpayers and strongly recommends other available non-contact service options. A taxpayer may pay delinquent and current taxes on-line through https://ikan.ks.gov/, mail-in, or drop box (Located at Shawnee County Courthouse parking lot: 200 SE 7th St).
