The Shawnee County Clerk's Office is dedicated to the taxpayers of Shawnee County; we strive to fulfill the statutory duties of the office in a prompt and effective manner, and we continue to make customer service, accuracy and transparency our top priorities.
Duties
- Secretary to the Board of County Commissioners
- Keeper of the Official County Seal
- Swears in elected officials, deputies & various boards
- Freedom of Information Officer
- Certifies Tax Unit Boundaries Maps
- Maintains and updates real estate ownership files
- Reviews budgets for all County taxing entities
- Sets and certifies all mill levies
- Responsible for central accounts payable for all county offices
- Many other statutory duties not listed
