Consideration of the Solar Energy Conversion System Regulations (as recommended for approval by the Planning Commission) has been moved to Monday, April 13, 2026, at 9 am, 707 SE Quincy, at which time a special session of the Board of County Commissioners will commence.

2038 Shawnee County Comprehensive Plan

In 2016, Shawnee County began a process to prepare a long-range Comprehensive Plan for the unincorporated area. The Comprehensive Plan will provide a guide for orderly growth that balances environmental values and reasonable development demand over the next 20 years. As such, the Plan will provide a working framework for community development.

On October 15, 2018, the Shawnee County Board of Commissioners adopted Home Rule Resolution No. 2018-2, approving the 2038 Shawnee County Comprehensive Plan. The adopted plan can be downloaded by clicking HERE.
