The Human Trafficking Task Force

Our office initiated and coordinates the Kaw Valley Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (KVHTTF).

Prior to receiving any funding, our original goal was to create a platform where law enforcement could share HT intelligence, and offer assistance with investigations. We also coordinate & sponsor HT Training.

We're involved with the Kansas Human Trafficking Advisory Board (HTAB).

Goals of the Human Trafficking Task Force:

1. Conduct intelligence-driven investigations into sex and labor trafficking crimes utilizing a dedicated HT investigations team.
2. Continue to prioritize what's best for the victim (victim-centered), and work with our VSP partner, YWCA of NE Kansas, to offer them services.
3. Partner with the YWCA of NE Kansas to conduct both labor and sex trafficking training to the public and law enforcement.
4. Work with the YWCA of NE Kansas to conduct a community assessment of HT in Shawnee, Jackson, and Osage counties.
5. Work with the YWCA of NE Kansas to continue to develop the KVHTTF into a true enhanced collaborative model (ECM) task force.
